Pencil, pen, ink and watercolour on three sheets of paper, joined; laid down on two pieces of coarse linen, stitched together | Scale: not stated. 1:32,600 approx. | RCIN 726015.a

A map of the encampments of the French army along the River Scheldt on 5 November 1708. War of the Spanish Succession (1701-14). Oriented with south to top (compass rose).

This map, and the accompanying texts, were presumably copied from earlier documents relating to the War of the Spanish Succession while Brückman was in camp in Lessines in June 1745 (see RCIN 726015.b). They would have been of use to Cumberland during the War of the Austrian Succession.
