The map shows the march routes of the French army, coming from Gavere (50°55'45"N 03°39'42"E) in the north-east towards the battle ground west of Singen (Zingem 50°54'14"N 03°39'11"E), on the Plains of Heurne (50°52'51"N 03°37'33"E) and Huyse (Huise 50°54'02"N 03°35'27"E), between Oycke (Ooike 50°52'16"N 03°33'08"E) and Wannegem (Wannegem-Lede 50°53'25"N 03°33'05"E) to the west and Aweghem (Ouwegem 50°54'44"N 03°35'59"E) to the north; the Allied camp is shown south-east of Moereghem (Moregem 50°51'02"N 03°33'41"E) on 12 July following the battle, and the French retreat through Cruyshauten (Kruishoutem (50°54'06"N 03°31'33"E) to the north is marked.
