A map of the siege of Menen, 23 July-25 August 1706, by the Allied army, commanded by General Ernst Wilhelm von Salisch (1649-1711), resulting in the surrender of the town by the French commander, the marquis de Laramain. War of the Spanish Succession (1701-14). Oriented with south to top.

The map show the lines of circumvallation, with the army encamped in front of them, reaching from Reckem (Rekkem 50°47'01"N 03°09'48"E) in the south-east, round the hornwork at Hallewyn (Halluin 50°47'10"N 03°07'34"E), across the river Lys and around the west and northern sides of the town until the Lys is reached again.

This map and the manuscript map by Gabriel Delahaye at RCIN 725079 are very similar in detail; it is possible that one is a copy of the other.
