A low oblique view of the order of battle of the two armies at the Battle of Nieuwpoort, fought on 2 July 1600 between the Dutch, commanded by Maurice of Nassau, and the Spanish Habsburg army, commanded by Albert VII, Archduke of Austria(13 November 1559-13 July 1621), Governor of the Spanish Netherlands, and Francisco de Mendoza, Admiral of Aragón (bap.21 August 1550-1 March 1623), Commander-in-Chief of the Habsburg army of Flanders, resulting in a Dutch victory. Rijksmuseum (left hand plate, RP-P-OB-80.539) is attributed to FBvB, FMH 1140; it lacks the letter 'C'. The right hand plate (RP-P-OB-80.539B) is also attributed to Floris Balthasrasz. van Berckenrode; attributed date is 1600; it does not have the letter 'D'; catalogue ref: FMH 1140-[b]. The Rijksmuseum example of the complete three-part print (RP-P-OB-80.435), cat ref. FMH 1140-c, atlas Van S 1088, lacks the letters C and D and is attributed to FBvB.
