A high oblique view, combined with a plan of Bergen op Zoom showing the siege of the Dutch-held city by the Spaniards commanded by Ambrogio Spinola 1st Marquis of the Balbases (1569-25 September 1630) and Luis de Velasco, 2nd Count of Salazar (1559-1625) between 18 July and 3 October 1622, resulting in a Dutch victory following the arrival of a relief army commanded by Maurice of Nassau (14 November 1567-23 April 1625) and Ernst von Mansfeld (c.1580-29 November 1626). This appears to be an Italian version of the print, entitled 'Belegeringe van Bergē op zoom.', attributed by the Rijksmuseum to Nicolaes van Geelkercken (Rijksmuseum RP-P-OB-80.995A; FMH 1465; Hollstein Dutch 15).
