A map of Breda, besieged for the fifth time from 21 July to 11 October 1637 by the Dutch, commanded by Frederick Henry, Prince of Orange (29 January 1584-14 March 1647), who retook the city from the Spanish who were under the command of the Cardinal-Infante Ferdinand of Austria (May 1609-9 November 1641). Eighty Years War (1568-1648). Oriented with west-north-west to top (cardinal points).

This map shows the state of the siege up to 7 August 1637. It is possible that the topographical details were copied from Claes Jansz. Visscher's first state of his map of the siege (see Notes to RCIN 722108).
