A view of the Battle of Copenhagen, fought on 2 April 1801, between the British fleet, under the command of Admiral Sir Hyde Parker, and a Danish-Norwegian fleet which was anchored off Copenhagen, resulting in a strategic British victory. French Revolutionary Wars (1792-1802).

It was at this battle that Vice-Admiral Sir Horatio Nelson famously ignored Rear-Admiral Sir Hyde Parker's order to withdraw, turning his blind eye to the signal and going on to destroy a number of enemy ships before a truce was agreed. This view shows the two fleets in the heat of battle.

The text is very faintly engraved, and the upper-case letters are engraved in outline, suggesting that this may be a proof impression.
