An index or key plate to a view by Smirke of the representation of his Majesty reviewing the Volunteer Corps in Hyde Park on 4 June 1799. French Revolutionary Wars (1792-1802).

The old catalogue entry implies that the Earlom engraving of Smirke's original view should be placed at this RCIN; however, it is clear that the item described here is, in fact, the index plate to the engraved view.
