This long and hard-fought action took place during the night or early morning of 5 January 1795 from about 1.00 am to 5.30 am and resulted in a British victory.
This appears to be a proof copy of Parker 105.c. The lettering of the title is very faintly engraved and the upper case letters are engraved in outline. According to the inscriptions on the verso of the print, it was purchased as a proof for two guineas. The date on this impression is given as 1800 whereas the imprint on the published version, according to Parker, is 1801.

The same text in French is engraved right of the title, begins:] Représentation exacte d'un Engagement …
