The map covers the territory to the east of the Rhine, from the River Main in the north to the Rhine where it enters the Bodensee at Constantz (Konstanz, Baden-Württemberg, Germany 47°39ʹ37ʺN 09°10ʹ32ʺE), extending east to Nurenberg (Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany 49°27ʹ15ʺN 11°04ʹ39ʺE). The areas occupied by each detachment are outlined in different colours with the regimental name, or name of the commanding officer, written across it.
