This map shows the march of the King's army in four columns, rather than the three indicated by the groupings on the orders of battle for Culloden. The geographical coverage extends from Fochabers (57°36'49"N 03°05'44"W) in the east to Inverness (57°28'44"N 04°13'26"W) in the west, and from Findhorn (57°39'25"N 03°36'30"W) in the north to Rothes (57°31'34"N 03°12'23"W) in the south. The camp at Fochabers is marked as ‘Elgin Camp’, the march route, using the main road and three columns to south or north side are shown passing through Elgin (57°39'00"N 03°20'00"W), camping at Alves (57°38'00"N 03°27'00"W), passing through Forass (Forres 57°36'40"N 03°36'38"W) to Nairn, where the army camped the night before the battle, and the subsequent march to the battlefield with a plan of the battle.
