The regimental rectangles are coloured according to the facings of the uniforms. Written in a standard Board of Ordnance hand, similar to that of many of the engineers of this period.
Major-General Huske is second in command. The First Line, commanded by Brigadiers Sempill and Cholmondeley comprise the following regiments: Royal, Fleming, Pulteney, Blakeney, Ligonier, Barrell. The Second Line, under Brigadier Mordaunt, comprises Howard, Munro, Price (under Agnew), Cholmondeley, Batereau and Wolfe (under Lieut-Col. Martine). The Third Line, under Lieut-Colonel Leighton, comprises Cobham's (three squadrons), Campbell, Sempill, and Kerr (three squadrons). The fourth line, under Colonel Campbell, comprises Ligonier (two squadrons), Argyllshire, Hamilton (two squadrons).
Condition: three fold lines; cracked along folds; repaired by linen backing. Verso: top left, water-stained patch and shadow from the removal of Cumberland's cipher label; foxing.
