A sketch of the encampment on the Isle of Wight, 29 April 1758. Seven Years War (1756-63). Oriented with north-west to top (cardinal points and magnetic north).

This appears to be the preliminary drawing for RCIN 732052. An irregularly shaped flap shows different camp positions.

Additional text: [bottom right, below title:] NB If the old Batt:n is Encamp’d with the / Artillery, in the Rear they may be plac’d as / Mark’d A B C D in the plan, by which means / only one Batt:n of Guards will come on the / Right of the small hollow.

Formerly stored in a rough buff rag paper folder on which is written the old heading.

Condition: one fold line; brown stains.
