Project for the Attack of Tiondaroga proposed to be put / in Execution as near as the Circumstances and Ground / will admit of

c.1759

Pencil, pen and ink on paper | Scale: not stated. Not to scale | RCIN 732106

A plan of attack on Ticonderoga, July 1759. French and Indian War (1754-63). Oriented with east to top.

A hurried sketch, not to scale; for example, the distance written to the space between the line of contravallation and the abbatis is stated to be ¾ of a mile, while the same amount of space between the contravallation and the camp is just 120 ft. The detail is similar to RCIN 732105 which, however, lacks an indication of the abbatis. This sketch has all the immediacy of a plan worked out on the spot.
