A sketch of the encampment of the Allied army near Speyer from 27 September to 11 October 1743. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48). Oriented with north-north-west to top. The attribution to Schultz is made on stylistic grounds and by reference to the old catalogue entry. A rough sketch of the encampments west of Speyer and west of Otterstat (Otterstadt 49°22'19"N 08°26'52"E). The camp at Speyer extends south-west to Harthausen (49°17'39"N 08°20'42"E) and Heiligenstein (49°16'59"N 08°23'30"E), a distance of about 6 km. This sketch would have formed part of the compilation materials for RCIN 728103. Condition: no fold lines; brown discolouration to both sides.
