Distances are indicated by short lines across the routes, representing the number of leagues, or lieues, between towns; half a line across the route indicates half a league. An accompanying list by Robert Napier, at RCIN 728084.b, gives the stages of the march form the area around Maastricht on 11 May [1743] as far as Coblenz on the 31st with seven days' rest, at intervals, during the march.
