The title of this sketch appears to be written in Edward Mason's (librarian to the Duke of Cumberland) hand. The plan is unfinished and the troop rectangles are uncoloured. The camp of the Austrians is identified west of Baarle; the Dutch lie between Baarle and Alphen while, according to a manuscript plan in the Marburg archive, Dutch, Bavarians, Hanoverians, Hessians and English lie to the south of Baarle, between that town and Popel (Dokument 148 Plan des Lagers der Alliierten in den Niederlanden bei Alphen unter dem Befehl des Herzogs von Cumberland, 21 April 1747 Signed ‘von Gohr’. Pressmark: HstAM Karten WHK 23/148. Digitalisierungsprojekt Wilhelmshöher Kriegskarten (WHK)).
The map extends from just north of Alphen south through Baarle (Baarle-Hertog 51°24'14"N 04°53'29"E) to Wild (Weelde 51°24'28"N 04°59'33"E), and as far east as Popel (Poppel 51°26'44"N 05°02'35"E).
