The area covered extends from Fort St Piere (Fort Sint Pieter 50°50'09"N 05°41'05"E) southwards to the castle of Lichtenberg (now in ruins: 50°49'21"N 05°41'39"E) and further south to Gaster (now a small hamlet, Caster, in the Walloon Region of Belgium, 50°48'30"N 05°41'17"E). The Line and encampment shown here on the west bank of the Meuse were part of the Allied army encampments which were made to the south and east of Maastricht after the Battle of Lafelt (2 July 1747), and while the siege of Bergen op Zoom (14 July-18 September 1747) was being conducted. The geographical relationship between the camp at St Peter's Hill and the rest of the army is shown on RCIN 730142.
Condition: no fold lines visible; substantial foxing to both sides.
