A map of the encampment of the Allied army (Austrian, Hanoverian and Dutch) at Mosbach, 26 August 1745. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48). Oriented with south-west to top.

This is another copy, in German, of the map at RCIN 729151 by J.C. Treu. The relationship, if any, between the two Treus is not known.

Additional text: [bottom left, a key A-I, K, to the locations of demolished French works, boat bridges, a bridgehead fortification begun by the French and augmented by the Allies, lines, batteries and encampments, together with a summary of the Dutch, Hanoverian, and Austrian men and batteries and the number of artillery pieces, and an explanation of the colours used to distinguish the troops.]

Condition: four fold lines; formerly folded to 14.3 x 8.1 cm. Verso: brown ink spots; induced discolouration; bottom left, ghosting from the removal of Cumberland's cipher label: VOL. IV / 59.
