Another neater copy of this map, in the same hand, is at RCIN 729051. The army had marched to Petegem from Avelgem, a distance of about 10 km (6.2 miles). The encampment, on the west side of the River Escaut (Scheldt), extends for a distance of about 10 km (6.2 miles) from Heurn (Heurne 50°52'51"N 03°37'33"E) in the north, south-westwards past Oudenaarde, through Petegem to south of Elsegem (50°49'24"N 03°32'09"E). The regimental rectangles are coloured according to nationality: British (red), Hanoverian (yellow), Dutch (blue), Austrian (green).
Condition: two fold lines. Verso: induced discolouration; top left, water-stained patch, shadow and ghosting from the removal of Cumberland's cipher label: VOL. V / 44.
