An order of battle of the Allied army under the command of the Grand Duke of Tuscany, 1745. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48).

Francis Stephen (1708-65) was the Grand Duke of Tuscany (1737-65), Holy Roman Emperor (elected 13 September 1745) and husband of Empress Maria Theresa of Austria.

The order of battle is in two lines, commanded (under the Grand Duke of Tuscany) by Field Marshals Bathiani and Traun. The General Officers of the First Line are Feld Zeugmeisters: Brounne and Salm; Lieutenant-Generals Courriere, Grüne, Somerfeld, Soubiron, Smisaert, Picolomini, Geisrugg, Luchesi, Carl Palfi; Major-Generals Gellaÿ, Hamerstein, Roth, Gem[m]ingen, Maÿdel, Lutzen, Theirheim, Ariosti, Lanoÿ, Matha, Welward, Ostein, Serbelloni; Brigadiers Wreden, Block, Rode v, Heekeren.

The General Officers of the Second Line are Lieutenant-Generals Hollÿ, Luzan, Druchtleben, Berenclau, Pirckenfeld; Major-Generals Gross, Grothe, Rogendorf, Ebbersfeld, Klinkowstrum, Constant, Starnbergol, Palfÿ, Brettlach; Brigadiers: Heuft, van Oyen.

The reserve corps is commanded by Lieutenant-Generals Prizikowskÿ, Baroniaÿ; Major-Generals Trips, Bournonville, Mienskÿ.

The colouring of the regimental rectangles appears to be consistent with the uniform colours.

Condition: four fold lines; creased; torn, bottom left, repaired with linen backing. Verso: some foxing; water-stained patch and shadow from the removal of Cumberland's cipher label.
