The town of Bergen op Zoom, fortified by Menno van Coehoorn and garrisoned under the command of General Cronström, was besieged by the French army under the command of Count Löwendahl, from 14 July to 18 September, when the fortified town was taken by the French.
This plan shows only the southern walls of the fortification, from the Prince of Orange bastion in the west to the Noyielle bastion in the east. The French parallels and saps are shown in their final state.
Condition: one fold line; trimmed to edge of image. Verso: induced discolouration.
