An outline map of the cantonments of the Hanoverian army south of the River Lahn in March 1745. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48). Oriented with north-west to top. The attribution to Johann Carl Treu is made on stylistic grounds.

The northern boundary of the area, which is in present-day Hesse, is marked by the River Lahn, between Limburg (Limburg an der Lahn 50°23'00"N 08°03'00"E) in the west, and Giesson (50°35'00"N 08°39'00"E) in the east. The southernmost town shown is Cronenburg (Kronberg 50°10'38"N 08°30'45"E). Regimental names are marked in red ink against the places where they were cantoned.

This appears to be a preparatory sketch for RCIN 729065.
