A map of the siege of Barcelona, 3-27 April 1706, by the Franco-Spanish army, commanded by Philip V of Spain (1683-1746) and Marshal René de Froulay de Tessé (1648-1725), resulting in a victory for the English-led Allied garrison. War of the Spanish Succession (1701-14). Oriented with north-west to top.

When Nicolaas Visscher died in 1702, his business was continued by his widow, Elizabeth Verseyl (?-1726). The business was wound up in 1720 after which some of Visscher's copperplates were acquired by Petrus Schenk II. This map of Barcelona was originally published by Visscher, possibly in the late 1690s and then brought up to date by Schenk.
