This broadside was probably published as a special publication of the London Gazette.
Jacob Richards, the author of this map, was appointed 'one of his Majestie's engineers' by Lord Dartmouth, Master-General of the Ordnance. He was present at the siege of Buda in 1686, surveying and drawing a map of the event, and writing a journal, which are preserved in the British Library (BL King's MS.226). His journal of the siege was published by Gilliflower and Partridge in 1687.
