A map of the locations of the encampments of the French army, commanded by Louis de Crevant, duc d'Humières (1628-94), Marshal of France, in Hainaut in 1689. Nine Years War (1688-97). Oriented with north to top (cardinal points).

The campsites, shown by two parallel lines of tents, are not annotated with the dates of the encampments. The map extends from Orroi (Orroir, Walloon Region, Belgium 50°44ʹ59ʺN 03°38ʹ51ʺE) and Escaneffe (Escanaffles, Walloon Region, Belgium 50°45ʹ27ʺN 03°27ʹ11ʺE) in the top left, to near Herines (Herne, Flanders, Belgium 50°43ʹ27ʺN 04°02ʹ05ʺE) in the top right corner; and from Valenciennes (Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France 50°21ʹ00ʺN 03°32ʹ00ʺE) in the bottom left to Philippeville (Walloon Region, Belgium 50°11ʹ46ʺN 04°32ʹ37ʺE) in the bottom right corner.
