A plan of the entrance to the harbour of Havana, showing the defences and the batteries erected by the British in 1762. Seven Years War (1756-63). Oriented with south-west to top (cardinal points).

This plan does not include the chain which was strung across the mouth of the harbour; firing lines are drawn from the batteries on the north-east shores to the forts on the other side, which are shown in outline.

Additional text: [top left, below title, in rectangular panel, a list of the numbers of guns, and their positions, employed in the defence of the harbour, and a key to the batteries deployed against them.]

Condition: ten fold lines; formerly folded to 9.5 x 20.3 cm; worn along folds. Verso: heavy surface dirt on outside fold panels.
