A map of the seat of war in the Netherlands, Brabant, France and Germany from 20 October 1740 to 25 December 1745. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48). Oriented with north to top.

The map shows the theatre of war fought between the Austrians and Prussia between 1740 until hostilities ceased in compliance with the Treaty of Dresden, 25 October 1745. It extends from Retheim in the north to Basel in the south, and from the Suffolk coast in the west to Bayreuth in the east. The routes of the marches of different armies in the years 1740-45 are indicated by rectangles, coloured to indicate the army's nationality, joined by straight lines. A key to the colours used is on RCIN 728028.a.
