1748Engraving and some etching; printed on paper; hand-coloured | Scale: not stated. 1:1,500,000 approx. | RCIN 728028.b
The map shows the theatre of war fought between the Austrians and Prussia between 1740 until hostilities ceased in compliance with the Treaty of Dresden, 25 October 1745. It extends from Retheim in the north to Basel in the south, and from the Suffolk coast in the west to Bayreuth in the east. The routes of the marches of different armies in the years 1740-45 are indicated by rectangles, coloured to indicate the army's nationality, joined by straight lines. A key to the colours used is on RCIN 728028.a.
