An order of battle of the Austrian army under the command of Field Marshal Count de Traun, 1746. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48).
The style of the calligraphy is somewhat similar to that of George Augustus Schultz (active 1735-49), Cumberland's draughtsman, but the colouring technique of the regimental rectangles is very like that used by Johann Carl Treu (active 1740s), a military engineer of unknown nationality.
Commanding and regimental officers are named; there is no key to the colours used, but the colouring appears to denote the facings of the uniforms. The General Officers commanding the First Line are Field Marshalls Bathiany and Traun; Generals (Marechals de Camp) Broun, Salm; Lieutenant-Generals Courrier, Piccolomini, Geisrück, Lucesi, Carl Palfy; Major-Generals Gelhay, Rodt-Gemming, Ariosty, Lanoye, Welwart, Osteim, Serbelloni; Brigadiers [no names given under this heading].
The General Officers of the Second Line are Lieutenant-Generals Holy, Lutzani, Berenclau, Birckenfeldt; Major-Generals Gross, Rogendorff, Starenberg, L: Palfy, Breitlach; Brigadiers [no names given under this heading]. The Corps de Reserve is commanded by Baroniay, Prizickowsky, Trips, Bournoville, Minsky.
